Men's Halloween Costume Idea: Gangsters
Posted by Retro Star London on 18th Oct 2022
Mobsters in TV and film have always been a source of sartorial inspiration, as they often want to show off their exuberant wealth by wearing snappy designer suits and flashy jewellery and watches. As so many of their looks are so recognisable, they make great Halloween costumes; here are a few of our favourites, and how to get the look with Retro Star London.
The Peaky Blinders gang got its name from the tweed flat caps (with blades inserted) its members wear. Ours from Failsworth are luckily blade-free, but will still give you the brooding Tommy Shelby look - just remember to add the cigarette dangling from your lips.
Failsworth Carloway Harris Tweed Newsboy Cap - £44.95
Tony Montana's '80s suits in Scarface are a trademark of his nuevo-riche aesthetic, which you can replicate with one of Chenaski's large collar shirts. Just leave the top few buttons undone and pair with some gold chains.
Chenaski Men's Basic Large Collar Shirt in Bordeaux - £28.99
Tony Soprano's velour Fila tracksuits are not only very comfortable, they also blend casual and smart - no need to wear a suit to look expensive!
Fila Men's Irving Velour Track Top in Navy - £67.95
Although Michael Corleone, played by Al Pacino (who also played Tony Montana in Scarface) wears a Homburg hat in The Godfather, our Failsworth Trilby hat is very similar if you're looking to dress as the budding crime boss this Halloween.
