About our brands: Gloverall

Gloverall is a traditional English outerwear brand, established in the 1950s. It began after World War II when Harold and Freda Morris, of gloves and overall wholesalers H&F Morris, were offered large quantities of military surplus duffle coats. When the coats sold out quickly, they decided to create their own collection of duffel coats, under the brand name Gloverall.
In the 60s Gloverall's popularity greatly increased, motivating them to build a new factory in Northamptonshire, and design more fashionable duffles and outerwear. By the end of the 1960s, they were selling in over 40 countries, in the 70s being placed on the Silver Jubilee Honours list for their export sales, establishing themselves as a classic British brand.
Gloverall continued its success into the later 20th-century, providing duffle jackets to the British Olympic team competing in the 1986 Winter Olympics, as well as supplying part of the GB official team uniform for the 1987 Winter Olympics. The above picture shows Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean wearing Gloverall duffle coats at their first Winter Olympics.
Gloverall wins the Queens Award for Export in 1992, a high honour. During this decade, they also increase their range to include super wax and heavy duty cottons, reversible woollen duffle coats, and coats and jackets in cotton cambric padded out with Goose down, with Herringbones, Harris Tweeds and Cashmere mix fabrics.
Gloverall is a brand with ultimate timelessness and durability, much like its jackets and coats, which never go out of style. Shop our Gloverall collection here.
